Welcome to the Rotary Club of Kampala Nsambya. It is a great honor to serve as President of this vibrant and dedicated club. I am deeply grateful for the trust placed in me, and I look forward to working alongside our members, partners, and friends as we continue our shared commitment to Service Above Self. Rotary is more than fellowship; it is about transforming lives, restoring hope, and creating sustainable impact within our communities. Guided by this mission, our focus this Rotary year is to implement meaningful, sustainable, and community-centered initiatives that respond to the real needs of the people we serve.

Mission: To carry out significant projects in the seven areas of focus of Rotary through uniting people of goodwill while upholding Rotary core values.
All committees, including Administration, Membership, Public Relations, Service and Rotary Foundation begin each Rotary year with specific goals that are important to our club. The club’s committees are charged with carrying out the club’s long-range and annual goals each year. They include Membership, Public Relations, Finance and Administration, Also, due to the importance of Rotary Foundation, Club Services has been automatically included in this strategic plan.
The goals, objectives and action steps stated below are intended to Address our club’s strategic priorities and values
- Take full advantage of our club’s strengths
- Compensate for perceived club weaknesses
- Lay out a realistic game plan for the benefit of our club and its members
The Rotary Club of Kampala Nsambya was mothered by the Rotary Club of Mengo where Rtn. PDG Nelson Kawalya belongs and Rtn. PAG James Kalibala was the special Governor’s Representative by then. The club started with 42 members but only 36 were registered with Rotary International. Our beloved club was admitted to RI on 10 th April, 2013 and we held the charter night on 7 th July 2013, with changed name from Nsambya Rotary Club to “The Rotary Club of Kampala Nsambya” (RCKN).
- Before the existence of Rotary Club of Kampala Nsambya. There existed Nsambya social leaders club (SLC) which used to meet every Tuesday at 8:00pm to discuss important issues and hosted visitors of importance.
- During 2012, one of the visitors was, Past District Governor Nelson Kawalya, who took keen interest in what the social leaders club (SLC) was doing. He suggested turning the (SLC) into a Rotary club. He gave his reasons and members of Social leaders Club believed him.
- On the 19th day of July 2012, the club adopted the idea and the formation started with the mentorship of PDG Nelson PDG and the 1st meeting of Nsambya Rotary club in formation was held at 8:00pm, in Nsambya General Clinic Board room.
- The Club was mothered by the Rotary Club of Mengo where Rtn. PDG Nelson Kawalya belongs and Rtn (PAG) James Kalibala was the special Governor’s representative.
